Plus-size model is expected to be statuesque, beautiful and with correct measurement or stats, in short, skinny, for it’s the requirement of the industry. Especially if a model is in the lingerie field like Victoria’s Secret.
But that was before. Lately, plus-size models are making a wave in the industry and perhaps, the world is now ready to accept models who have defied the norm.
During the 2014 New York Fashion Week, Denise Bidot, from Miami, Florida, became the first woman to model in her size category for two brands with straight size. And earlier this year, Bidot even appeared bravely in a campaign for a swimwear brand, un-edited.

Denise is not new in modelling. She’s been in the industry for eight years already, and now she thinks she’s ready to walk the catwalk as an angel. Just like any other models, she also dreams to be in the runway of Victoria’s Secret.
If ever, she would be the first-ever plus-size model for the popular lingerie brand.
She told Daily Mail, “That is a dream job. Of course I would be honored to be the first plus-size Victoria’s Secret model.
“I would die to be the first.”

Victoria’s Secret Angels Elsa Hosk, 26, and Jac Jagaciak, 21, also told Daily Mail that they “hope” to see a more curvy model for the famous lingerie brand.
“How powerful would that be?'” Denise remarked. She said she would want to see women of all sizes on the runway to represent many women in between.

Denise hopes to see herself in the near future in “big, dramatic wings,” confidently walking on that catwalk. For her, “It would be so cool to see someone really curvy on that catwalk.”
