Australia has 80 percent of the world’s supply of Opal. Opal is a rare gemstone that can take on many colors and is unbelievably expensive.
And now in here, we are about to show you the world’s most expensive stone.
It’s more expensive than Kim’s engagement ring.
This extremely rare opal is called the Virgin Rainbow and is worth over $1 million.
The first public appearance of the Virgin Rainbow will be September at the South Australian Museum. According to MNN, this brightly colored opal was found from the mining region of South Australia.
And this sausage, wonder why this extremely rare and brightly colored piece is so expensive?

It’s because of the stone it is made of—dinosaur opalized fossils.
Opal is a hydrated amorphous form of silica that has a water content mixed together to form a gel that flows into rocks and fossils.
I wonder why they called it the “Virgin Rainbow” though . . .
Maybe this picture will give us some answers.
