The World’s Longest Wood Carving by Zheng Chunhui

Zheng Chunhui, a Chinese artist, just revealed an insanely large wooden sculpture, which measures approximately 12.286 meters long, 2.401 meters wide, and 3.075 meters high.

The gigantic sculpture, which took four years to make, is inspired by a famous painting called “Along the River During the Qingming Festival”, a historical holiday celebrating the past ancestors that fell on the 104th day after the winter solstice.

The intricate sculpture features more than 550 individually carved people, boats, bridges, and different buildings.

Last November 14, 2013, the Guinness World Records went to Fuzhou, Fujian Province, where the grand masterpiece is held on display, to be verify whether Chunhui’s creation is the longest continuous  wooden sculpture on the planet.
