James Corden has been famous in the UK for a long time now, but he’s not very well-known in the United States. Yet. Earlier in the year, he took over the hosting job at The Late Late Show. He’s had to prove himself to the tough American audience who are very critical of the TV shows they see on air.
CBS had a press release that announced Corden as the new host, and they detailed his accomplishments, including his Tony award for his performance on Broadway in One Man, Two Guvnors. On his show, he has segments like Carpool Karaoke where he carpools to work with famous singers.
He featured legendary artist Stevie Wonder in one segment. The American audience tuned in to see whether the 65-year-old singer can still belt out a tune. Its already reached 7 million YouTube views since it was first uploaded on September 15.
The funny skit shows Stevie Wonder in the driver’s position despite the fact that he’s blind. He also does a fake British accent to mock Corden.

When they switch seats, the car ride and karaoke fun starts. Wonder also calls Corden’s wife, Julia, and sings a version of his hit song “I Just Called to Say I Love You.”

The American late-night viewers are hard to win over, but if Corden keeps up this kind of entertainment, he’ll be on the air for many years to come because Americans love watching legendary celebrities.
