The Denver Chalk Art competition, widely known as the Colorful Denver Chalk Art Festival Showcase, is a yearly two-day street painting contest that happens on Larimer square in Denver, U.S.A. In this competition, more than 200 artists participate – professionals and amateur, to create stunning chalk art creations using only their hands. At the end of the day, the streets of Larimer square become an archive of varying chalk art.

Using a variety of pastel chalk colors, all artists are able to produce unique and three-dimensional art pieces as passers-by watch in admiration.
Each year, the event draws a huge number of tourists and locals, in which each of them get a rare opportunity of showcasing their talents and bragging it to the whole world. Everyone in the festival doesn’t only see the artworks in the streets. They also enjoy fancy live music, as well as foods and beverages from concessionaires.

Organized by the Larimer Arts Association, the Denver Chalk Art competition aims to promote art awareness and education all throughout Denver.
