Meet Zlata, the most flexible woman in the world.
Born as Julia Günthel, she was also known as “Goddess of Flexibility” for her incredibly agile body that can contort in every way imaginable.
The Russian contortionist grew up in Tatarstan, but she moved to Germany when she was sixteen to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
When she was 4 years old, she took up gymnastics, and her teacher noticed just how flexible she was. At the age of 8, she went and applied to go to a circus school for girls.
By the time she reached the age of ten, it was her first time to perform on stage, and her career went uphill from there. As a master of front and back bending techniques, she made a living off contorting.
It was until Discovery Channel discovered her and made a feature about her body. In the segment, doctors ran her through an MRI machine as she was contorting.
The results came out, and they concluded that her ligaments are as flexible as those of an infant.
