For some motorists, Zagato might not ring a bell. However, this Milan-based auto design company has created many of the world’s most stunning cars.
For many years since 1919, Ugo Zagato has worked with a variety of auto-makers, such as Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, and Bugatti. He has designed many classic cars that did not only win races, but were also eye-catching.
He also partnered with other clients in designing luxurious cars, which include Jaguar, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, and Ferrari.
Although he already died in 1968, his legacy lives on through his company. Andrea Zagato, his grandchild, makes sure Zagato remains to be the world’s most influential car design center.
Now, a new Zagato-designed car is making a buzz. It is called the Maserati Mostro. It is actually a tribute to a legendary Maserati that was built by Zagato during the black and white era.

Unveiled at the 2015 Concorso d’ Eleganza Villa D’ Este in Italy, this monstrous car features a lightweight “MonoCel” carbon-fiber tube chassis and a carbon-fiber bodywork. Its engine is a dry-sumped V-8, which is mounted in a front midship position. Although there are no exact details concerning its power, they say it is somewhere around 400 brake horsepower.

According to rumors, only five Maserati Mostro will be manufactured. So, there is no point in asking about the price. But obviously, this beautiful monster will become an appreciating asset.
