The newest American pastime is taking the craziest food challenges. People’s eagerness to defeat food had common folks sitting down and trying to devour massive amounts of food.
These days, numerous restaurant owners are challenging their patrons to gorge on excessive amount of food with a promise of prizes to those who emerge victorious in their organized “battles.” By finishing the meal, the victors can prizes such as cash and other stuff.
Here are some of America’s biggest food challenges.

What’s in it: A 14-pound pizza

Big Fat Fatty challenges
Where: Fat Sal’s, locations in Los Angeles and San Diego
What’s in it: As its name states, this is a big fat fatty meal. It is made up of 5 cheeseburgers, 1.5 lbs of cheesesteak, 1.5 lbs of pastrami, 10 chicken fingers, 10 onion rings, 10 jalapeño poppers, 5 fried eggs, bacon, chili, french fries, marinara, mozzarella sticks, and of course, Sal’s Fat sauce.
Iron Men/Women Challenges
Where: Broken Yolk Cafe (various locations throughout California)
What’s in it: 12 egg omelette filled with mushrooms and cheese and even more cheese on top plus rich chili for added flavor. That’s not all, you also have to deal with 2 pounds of potatoes and biscuits. (That’s for breakfast.)
The Ultimate Destroyer challenges
Where: Papa Bob’s Bar-B-Que, Kansas City, Kansas
What’s in it: This sandwich is made of 1/2 lb. of hickory smoked sliced pork, 1/2 lb. of pulled pork, 3 burgers, a 1/2 lb. of smoked ham, 1/2 lb. of smoked brisket, 1/2 lb. of smoked turkey, 1/2 lb. of sausage, 6 pieces of bread, a 12″ hoagie roll, and 1 1/2 lbs. of fries. If that’s not enough, 4 pickles of jalapenos are added (for your veggies).
Jake’s Five Pound Philly Challenge
Where: Jake’s Sandwich Board, Philadelphia, Philadelphia
What’s in it: To win this challenge, you have to eat a meal that consists of a full box of TastyKakes, 24 Mini Peanut Chews, 2-foot cheesesteak, 4 soft pretzels, and a cherry soda.

What’s in it: This mouthwatering work of art is made up of 5 pounds of pure meat wrapped in bacon. The true American meal.
Four Horsemen Burger challenges
Where: Chunky’s Burgers, San Antonio, Texas
What’s in it: At first look, this 1/2 pound burger may look out of place in this list. But this normal-looking meal is not what you think it is. The jalapeño and serranos combined with habanero sauce makes this a formidable meal. But wait, that’s not all—a couple of the world’s hottest peppers, the ghost peppers, are in it too to add more fun. To win this challenge, you have to eat the world’s hottest burger and not drink water for 5 minutes.

What’s in it: For this challenge, you will consume a pizza topped with jalapeños, habaneros, and ghost pepper. And oh, you’ll only have a glass of water.

What’s in it: This is a breakfast meal challenge. To win, you have to consume this burrito made of a dozen eggs, 7 potatoes, and a whole onion. For added touch, it is topped with chili, cheese, and a pound of ham.
The 9 Pounder
Where: BGR The Burger Joint (locations throughout the country)
What’s in it: Don’t be fooled by its name. The meat alone is 9 pounds, the whole burger weigh an astonishing 15.4 pounds. If you can finish it, you’ll either be dead or in the hospital, but hey, your meal is free!
