To see is to believe, they say. This is the most common rebuttal people who refuse to believe in ghosts throw. They have not seen a lady walking around without a head, so they claim none of the apparitions people talk about are unreal and should stay in movies.
But time and time again, the strange world of the dead has cunning ways of proving that sometimes, they choose to stay longer than they should. Pieces of evidence of these wandering sould almost always come in the form of photos.
Scary, haunting photos.
5 Haunting Photos That Will Make You Believe in Ghosts
Here are five photographs that have captured something—or someone—that prove that maybe, ghosts are indeed real.
1. Creepy photobomber
As you can see, this photo captured more than just what it should have caught. Zoom into the bottom of the right window.
Rumors have it that a little girl died in that side of the house. There are other photos too of the same house that capture the said scary figure in different locations, which proves that it isn’t just a mere object in that ghastly abode.

2. The uninvited guest
A Reddit user from shared this photo on the site’s paranormal community. It shows a black apparition, which no one else but a couple of young boys noticed.
“This photo was taken at a wedding by a friend of a colleague. The wedding party was held at an old farm in Norway, famous for being the former home of M. Munthe (a children’s book author). There was no one present at the wedding wearing black, and the picture was taken by one of the guests (I think he/she snapped it with a cell phone camera). The professional photographer (you can see part of his gear to the right in the picture) had no ‘natural’ explanation for the ‘figure.’ He hadn’t seen any camera ‘glitch’ like it before, and they said no one else was standing where the figure is standing. So what do you think? Could this be something . . . real? Or do you have a natural explanation? Maybe a bug with the camera/cell phone?”
3. Someone’s watching
The photo below was shared on Facebook by Natasha Oliver who said that she was with her friends chilling at an empty house block when the chilling photograph was taken. She and her friends were checking the photos they took that day when they noticed one caught something they were not sure what. Oliver said that some of her friends went to find the “woman” in the shot but came back saying there was no one in the building.
Oliver said, “It’s on the site of an old wood yard so there would have been people working here. It could be any one of the workers. It looks maybe like a lady holding a baby.”
4. The figure with no reflection
A photo set was shared on a paranormal forum by Reddit user Juarez. The haunting photos show a figure that does not seem to have any reflection. And retouching the photo brought Juarez a discovery the Redditor was not ready for.
“Here is an image I captured last year in my motel room in Virginia City, Nevada. Look at the mirror to the right, no reflection. I also believe there is a second spirit. You can make out a face over his shoulder. First image is original and untouched. I played around with the image and was amazed to see the shadow take the shape of a man.”
5. “I Thought the Vegetation Looked Eerie”
Another spine-tingling photo was shared on Reddit showing an unknown creature caught in a vegetation. Nobody could tell what it is exactly, although the owner of the photograph claimed what he could make out of the picture is a floating head of a man.
“I took this pic with my digital camera near a residential rental in Hidden Hills, Ca. This was a chance photo. I took picture because I thought the vegetation looked eerie. This is what appeared when I viewed picture. Even though I believe in the existence of ghosts, I still found myself scrutinizing the photo, trying to find some logical explanation for what I saw. I didn’t believe the color would be so vibrant; there are also a few other anomalies that appear a floating head and some type of old west mountain man. Yeah, like I was saying, when I looked back at the vegetation, there were no red and blue or bright white that I could have mistaken for the clothing. I welcome your comments and opinions regarding this pic or contact me if you have any questions pertaining to picture. Thank you. (If you use the head of the ghost as center clock for reference, at the 8:00 clock position you’ll see that mountain man, and above his head almost to the top slightly left is a floating head of an old man.)”
A single photo paints a thousand words, at times millions. They last forever too, constantly taking you back to a memory you wish to never forget. But sometimes, the pictures we take catch something that makes us rethink whether all photographs are actually worth a spot in our treasure box. Just like these haunting photos.
