In an attempt to set a world record, 181 female skydivers from 31 different countries gathered together for the largest all-female skydiving formation.
Their stint wasn’t only for show or for publicity because they aimed to raise money to fight breast cancer. Nevertheless, they were successful at the end of the day. Not only did they set a new world record, they also raised more than 900-thousand dollars.
The proceeds went to the City of Hope, a cancer foundation based in Los Angeles county. They will be using the money for research.
Sponsored by the skydiving non-profit organization, Jump for a Cause, the event was participated by various cancer survivors, friends, and supporters. It was held on September 21 to 27 in Perris, California.

The Perris Valley Skydiving Center, the biggest in North America, provided 9 planes to life the women to 17,000 feet. They even helped them set the new women’s world record formation skydive.
The 181 participants were led by Kate Cooper-Jensen, one of the leading skydivers on the planet.

“The dedication and passion these women bring to this event is inspiring. All national and religious differences have been put aside to fight the common enemy, breast cancer,” said the co-founder of Jump for a Cause.
